Artist Bio:
Maria Leite is a set designer with a bachelor’s degree from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and a Doctorate in Education from the University of West Florida, Florida, USA. Currently, Maria Leite, works as Coordinator of Assessment and Diversity Initiatives at the University of Florida College of Education. Her research interests include curriculum and assessment, the historical and social context of race relations, and art-based approaches as mindfulness practices.
