Jane Medved

My paintings of “nature and human nature” are inspired by our subtropical scenery and wildlife. I paint on canvas, wood, cork, and unconventional materials. I also create eco-art with palm bark, bamboo husks, and other foraged gifts from nature.

In the past I served as Consultant in Ceramics for The Metropolitan Museum of Art and ran a clay studio, school, and gallery by the Brooklyn Bridge. My sculptures were exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum, Brooklyn Museum, and Museum of Arts and Design. I also exhibited at the Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings, Montana, after serving as their artist in residence.
