"American Flag #4 is the 4th painting in a series of American flags that I painted early this year. I was inspired by my feeling that we were starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with Covid. This piece was created with layers of paint, marks and scratches. Not to sound dramatic, but it is like the country we live in. Ugly things, covered by pretty things. Pretty things, scratched then repaired. All kinds of marks that create a picture."
