One day while thrifting, I found a half-finished still life painting. Although I enjoy finding canvases destined for landfill, I especially love finding works in progress left unfinished, because then I can be part of a collaboration across time and space. I took the canvas home with me and built off of the original shapes to create a semi abstract floral piece. I cut up plastic bottles and melted them over a flame to create flowers. This piece was a way of returning to my roots as a mixed media artist.
