Joe was rescued by Evermore Equestrian Center in 2016 after years of neglect and abandonment. This photo captured one of his first glimpses of the farm that would be his forever home (seen reflected in his beautiful eye). He was unsure, but curious. Through fierce love, patience, and a focus on building trust and connection, he happily settled in and quickly became a cherished member of our family, with the rest of our herd, and in our equine therapy program for his gentle spirit and quirky humor that surfaced once safety led to confidence.

To me, this image shows the transition from a difficult world behind into a better, yet unknown, world ahead and the deserved chance to not just survive, but thrive.
