Eleanor Blair
b.1947

Eleanor Blair graduated from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City in 1969. Eleanor spent some time in Sarasota before driving up to Gainesville in her ‘51 Plymouth for a rock concert. She fell in love with this beautiful place and decided to live here.

Within a few days, she discovered the Artisan’s Within a few days, she discovered the Artisan’s Market, and through them, found her way to the Gainesville Fine Arts Association. Sarah Herndon and Sandy Paganini took her under their wings, offering opportunities to teach children’s art classes, present lectures, participate in art shows, and write a monthly newsletter for GFAA members.

Now, fifty-two years later, she continues to be an active member of our creative community.
