Scott Lamp was president of GFAA from 2006-2007 and Scott Lamp was president of GFAA from 2006-2007 and was responsible for starting the partnership with SIMED Health. Membership doubled during this busy time of growth for the organization. The addition of the SIMED Health exhibit expanded opportunities for GFAA’s members.

I began my art journey in 1998 by signing up for I began my art journey in 1998 by signing up for watercolor classes with Linda Pence in Gainesville Florida. I then took a few workshops and practiced whatever I could learn. I discovered my favorite subject is the landscape and nature. I also discovered that I enjoy the struggle of pushing myself in new directions and enjoy wandering out of my comfort zone to learn a new approach or tackle a difficult subject (though I’m often heard grumbling in the process). I suppose this is what inspired me to shift from watercolor to acrylic and then to pastel.

I have won awards for paintings in each of the mediums that I work in, but right now I’m enjoying having my fingers covered in pastel dust.
