When the Ocean Meets the Well - Sylvia Montesinos

Inkjet on Paper

6 x 4 inches

For me what makes piece of art feel most alive is when it is able to capture the fullness of life: the beauty, the sublime, the sorrow, and also death. This photo is a nod to the tradition of still life vanitias and memento mori paintings where everything in the piece, a fresh blossom, unbroken glass, and a snakeskin for example, represent the fragile, temporary and ephemeral, and impermanent nature of life.
