Out of the Box
I know that I have been excited about all of the GFAA Gallery themes, but abstract art is hard to find in this area of Florida. I have talked to many GFAA artists who have never done abstract and are working on their pieces for this exhibit. If truth be known, though...it is Out of the Box that has really kicked up my creative temperature. For those of you who are still scratching your head about what Out of the Box is...my explanation is that IT IS NOT painting a portrait, if you normally do still life; it is pushing your limits of artistic creativity way out...stretch! (Just my opinion, of course.) BTW…I am doing a mobile as one of my pieces. What are you thinking about? I want to thank all of you who have responded to my President’s messages, the WANTED ads, and the Volunteer sign-up sheets at the Thursday General Meetings. We filled the Vam York, got a Director for Park’s Ford, an umbrella for outside, sign-ups for Open Studio and Plein Air, and much more. I want to personally thank Miriam Novack who helped me with my abstract choices…no more eeny meeny miny mo…
So much coming up and I want to do it all…Collage Workshop, Oak Hammock, and more. Aren’t we lucky!
